Today Katharine was not there so it was a bit hard working with 2 people but we did pretty well . I had 1 problem I could not find the numbers of fish the top ten countries fished for so Ms Doray said we could get other research and look for that while we are doing are research. Ms Doray even gave us a website called noodle tools .I can not really remember the website address.

We even watched a bit more of the documentary called 11Th hour i finished writing all my 8 or 9 facts. I even got a bit of info to add on to are work. We had to show are skits to the grade 4's Grace.t said she will be Katharine and do her part that was thankful because we needed Katharine to do her part.

"THE 11TH HOUR IS SCARY!!!!!

Today Kath was away so Sarah and i have to work together in this moring. Ms, Doray have give all of us a website and I think that I have found amany info and the website was very good and i enjoyed the website very much.
Sarah was trying to find out more info on "which countries fish the most" Sarah cann't find any info on which countries fishh the most and the number of it.

Today we also watch "The 11th Hour" I feel very said for the people who have lost there home and many people have lost there family and I think that the GLOBLE WARMING so going far and they said that there are 95 % of animals berfore and I think that the animals, sea marine life and all of different thing will going to be extinct oneday.

scary 11th hour

Today we try to go to Mr,Red classroom and the grade 3 was using them so we have to do some thing else like caption and Ms, Doray was asking us about the work how are we going with the work. After that we went up at the library and Mrs, Capataine was showing us about the exhibition and she have give us and the other group a ideas .

Today we were watching the 11th hour and it give as many of info but some of the part are scary and I think it was quite a bite scary when i saw the picture of the little kids have many flies on the face and I it was very scary and i feel very sad for the kids.
The 11th hour tell us how many fish are there around the world and it tell all of the different info too.

It tells us about many causes around the world and how does it form and what can we do about it and what are the causes of GLOBLE WARMING????????????

28Th April 09
Today we were going to do research but the computers were not free . So we did are caption it was better than doing nothing . Ms Doray came to our group and asked us about what we were doing . She said we need to give Pailin more instructions . We even changed the question that i was doing because Katharine said i had more info on what are people doing about overfishing . I the only problem that i had was the computers were not available and i could not finish my research so i could make the graph. Katharine had almost done with the collating are info and yesterday i had helped Pailin finish the script of the skit we just have to practise it again because we had made some changes to most parts of the skit. When we went up to the library Ms Doray found two books for our group. The whole class watched a movie called the 11Th hour , some people found it freaky but for me it was an okay movie a bit interesting but some parts i did not understand very well. Our library teacher made a power point on tips for are exhibition presentation.

Scary Future

Today the IT lab was not available so we made our main caption,"Overfishing." Ms Doray checked on what we were doing for the Exhibition, and said that we needed points inside the points,which the library teacher told us later. We made the caption out of magazine pages and I I thought that it looked pretty good.

In the afternoon, we watched a documentary called, "The 11th Hour." The documentary looked quite scary at first, and remained so for the whole part that we watched. I did not know that we humans are so thick that we totally ignore proven fact!!! It was also scary that global warming and climate change might inflict diseases, like cancer and asthma to little children.

The most haunting part was that we are at the point where we can make a difference, and if we do not, earth, our only planet that meets all our needs, might turn into it's sister planet, Venus.
I did not get the part when the people said that the thing that makes us human, is not human. I also have not yet realised how our population has so quickly increased! I look forward to learning more from the show...

Today we have to go out and talk to Mrs. Tuli about how are we going with our work and what else we needed to work on and how are we going to do them.

Mrs, Tuli have give us a work and when we have to finish them.

This afternoon Sarah and I when to see Mrs,Ziegler in 4A class

we asked her to help us with our model giving a ideas.

Top 10

Today we made a timeline with Ms Tuli, making deadlines for all our additions to the Exhibition and decided to change our 4th question, again.

Now it is "Which countries fish the most? What are they doing about it?"

  Sarah got the Top 10 countries and Pailin wrote down the script of our short skit. I am in charge collating all our info.

I think that overall, we are doing quite well, we just need to get the visuals, media, and interviews done.

27Th April o9
Today we wrote are time lines and decided on who was doing what .I had a bit of trouble in finding are the numbers of fish the countries fish .We asked Ms Ziegler about are model and she gave us an idea . We going to start making are model soon . Pailin had trouble entering in her blog because she had spelled yahoo wrong.

Sonar

Today our action plan was to make a model and gather information and media for our 4th question. We did not get round to making a model as Ms Z was having a lesson, so we got more info for the question and made a powerpoint with a video in it. 

That was very hard, as we did not know how to put a Youtube video on a powerpoint.

But at break, Mr Red told us that he found a way to do so. We still do not have a nice visual, but we still have a few weeks to go!

Past, Present, Future....

Today we were given a research period. We used it to find the answers to our 4th question: Why and how has fishing escalated? Fishing escalated after the World War II , where fisheries started using military technology such as sonar and with low frequency so it does not harm the fish.

Mr Red also found a way to allow other team mates to post on the leader's blog, so it will be easier for Ms Doray to check on our blog entries. 

After, we did our "creative addition" to our exhibition. Many people were very funny and creative, while our short skit was very simple, "Fishing in the Past, Fishing in the Present and Fishing in the Future".

23-04-09
Today we mostly did research and ever group got thier blogs conected and Ms Doary does not have to look at every blog adress she can just look at one that is the leaders one because we are to send are reflections to them.

Today all of the groups had to do there little show on the topic that they are doing.

Our group is doing on overfishing and we had come up with our ideas on the show and all of the groups had to come up with different thing like Ashley, Grace and Kaho are doing on the endendangered animals and they had come up with a rap song.

First our group was thinking to do the tuna fish dance and second we were thinking to do some play and last but not less we don't know what to do so today we just come up with some small ideas and i think that our group is doing on very well on overfishing :)

Shark Video

Today we completed our action plan, the first time we ever did!
Ms Tuli and Ms Doray showed us how to create our own blogs to save paper. We also found Youtube for a video about de-finned sharks called Hai-fish,but we thought that it was too... severe. The main message of the video was: Everyone who ate a shark fin is evil.
So we have to keep searching......
